  • 1 lb Meyer Natural Angus Ground Beef (4 Meyer Natural Angus patties can also be used as a substitute)
  • 3 ozs Brie cheese
  • Burger rolls (optional)
  • 1 Green apple (cored, sliced into matchsticks)
  • 1 Carrot (grated)
  • 1/4 cup Low-fat buttermilk
  • 1/4 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 3 tbsps Fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 2 Scallions (thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 Lime (juiced)
  • Salt to taste
  • Lime wedges for garnish

Preparation

1.  Wash green apple and slice it into matchsticks. Grate one carrot. Mix apple and carrot in bowl with buttermilk, cumin, honey, cilantro, scallions, lime and salt. Set aside.

2.  Shape ground beef into 4 burgers (preformed Meyer Natural Angus patties can be substituted) and cook to desired degree of doneness. When ready to serve, top each burger with 3/4 ounce brie and about 1/2 cup slaw. (If you can’t get the entire 1/2 cup on the burger, serve remaining slaw on side). Serve burgers with or without burger rolls and lime wedges.
